Anybody see this game yet?
http://www.navalaction.com/preorder/
It looks interesting.
I wonder if it could augment our current KS campaigns by adding a naval aspect?

I believe there are a bunch of Gcm folks that are actively into this one....

I ordered it. I like sailing ships, being from California and all.
It will be fun to enjoy a tranquil sail upon the sunset sea, the ocean spray in my hair as the gentle ebb and flow of the waves rocks me to sleep...

I see they are based in Kiev. Hopefully they finish the game. All sorts of unfortunate things happening in that part of the world right now. Conscription could steal away key talent. =/

I'm really looking forward to this one - is it in a state worth buying yet? I'm always a bit dubious about Early Access, I don't want to ruin it for myself!
I have fond memories of 'Age of Sail II' which was really the last game which tried to tackle this in any sort of depth.

Re: Anybody see this game yet?
It's gaining steam (no pun intended) with the GCM crowd and it appears the number of subscribers is steadily increasing. At a given time there's typically 150 - 250 players online with 15 - 25 battles going on. It's easy to find a game. Many battles now have 30 - 40 ships/players involved. It can only be played through Steam.
IMO it's worthwhile to play now even though they haven't yet rolled out some of the features that will ultimately take it to the next level (Open World, economic and discovery infrastructures, etc.). At this point it is limited to naval combat.

Bring the Dramamine for the occasional battle on rough seas. You'll need it.Father General wrote:...the ocean spray in my hair as the gentle ebb and flow of the waves rocks me to sleep...

Do you get to name your ships in this thing?
I can't seem to find a comprehensive list of features for the game.

Re: Anybody see this game yet?
Can't name your ships (yet, at least). A lot of features are in development which, I suppose, makes it difficult to make hard definitions for such things as "Open World," the discovery, economic aspects, etc.. Most of the info needed to play the game comes from the forum and YouTube instruction videos. I recall reading that the developers were holding off on an official manual because they wanted to see how intuitive the controls were to players of the beta. Still, it is possible to get a comprehensive list of in-game commands/hotkeys.
Re: Anybody see this game yet?
No problem. Just waiting for my DL link and access key then. I suppose I'll get into it today or next week, whenever they send it out. Looking forward to learning the ropes!

I got in and played a few battles. It's not too hard to figure out, although I'm still learning.
Quite fun!
