I put a shout out to my bros at Matrixz and got the straight dope 'bout mah Scourge of War shiznit. After I gots my new super-fly, dope pIMp Daddy mack SOW Machine, I installed da backup an da Man jumped on that, all crashin', rainin' on mah parade drinkin' Hateraide. So I shot a kite to Matrixz an da shot calla there gave me da mad hookupz wit fresh DL linx. I was like, "sweet!" Now, I gots my game rollin' all 20s. 'Cept THEN the display come across all funky and I was like, "Dude..." But I sent in da closer, checked that "compatibility mode" and now she's ridin' purdy.

I finally contacted Matrix about my SOW issues. After I got my new Scourge of War machine, I tried to install a backup of SOW and it didn't work. Matix was very helpful and gave me fresh download links to everything. Of course, when I fired up the new installation, all of the text was blacked out, which I learned was a problem. (Father General doesn't read orders or dispatches anyway, he reads Bible verses, which explains his gameplay style.) Anyway, checking Windows 7 compatibility mode solved the issue, so now I am back in the game!

I do need to know which mods to install, so if someone could direct me to the links, I'd appreciate it.
