Brief campaign update 7/8 Empty Brief campaign update 7/8

Post  Father General Tue Jul 08, 2014 3:14 pm

I am frantically trying to organize a clash between now and Saturday, but at the moment I am going through order phases with the side commanders. Both gentlemen have been wonderfully prompt in their replies, keeping things moving. However, we are reaching a critical juncture in the campaign where several events unfold for the commanders and it requires I write lengthy entries for them to ponder.

You'd be right to assume the campaigns are probably most fun for the side commanders themselves who get a lot of attention throughout the event.

Given my workload and a long-planned trip to San Francisco this weekend coming, I may not be able to schedule a battle by this Saturday. Again, I am trying and will know more by Wednesday. I think I can easily arrange a small skirmish, but I need to know what the commanders want to do with their armies since it is them, not me, who moves their forces on the map.

If by tomorrow I have covered enough ground, I will go ahead and put together another campaign battle for Saturday. Expect a short-term Doodle link that lasts until Friday afternoon, my time at the absolute latest.

I expect approximately 1-3 more battles in this campaign, although I could be surprised myself. Nobody has done a single thing I expected them to do which has sent me back to the storyboard many times for revisions. LOL

Curse you von Clausewitz!

I will post an update tomorrow and probably more of the story tonight.

Real life comes first. Have one 2 Saturdays from now if it is better for your real life time.

Oh I fit this in nicely between raids by the Little Father General into the cabinets and against the houseplants.

The thing is, Morsey, I'm always going to be too busy. But we only have the time we make. I make time because I enjoy the community and the game. I'll still be gone next weekend, but you'll have a scenario if the commanders make the requisite moves.

I never let things like family, real life, and facts stop me from achieving my goals. You should see me run a brigade to understand this...

A man should always have time to pursue his hobby.

A little leisure helps to recharge the batteries I find.

Very commendable effort Neal, very much appreciated.

I'd better get cracking. You gentlemen just created a hell of a lot of work for me today alone.

I'll post an update shortly.
