Lost Division update 6/18 Empty Lost Division update 6/18

Stefan has sent me his scenario editor which allows me to build scenarios and add custom units as well as keep track of casualties and so on. It's a wonderful tool.

At this point, I am asking him for a tutorial so I can use the tool properly without any complications. However, I am on Pacific Time and Stefan is -8 or -9 hours ahead of me, which makes this difficult. He also has some busy weekends ahead.

We have a couple options.

1. If someone familiar with the tool will volunteer to manage it, I can provide the starting OOB and other required information.

2. If someone familiar with the tool will volunteer to teach me how to use it, it would be greatly appreciated. (Teach a man how to fish...)

If anyone out there can step up and help, it will be appreciated. This tool creates the scenario as well. While it does not line up units in a particular order like creating the scenario from hand might do, it puts the units together in groups, which is good enough, even for the couple battle scenarios I have, envisioned.

Most battles will probably just be set as meeting engagements, but about 1-2 will probably be generated with specific placements in mind. Those battles are the most painstaking to create, but also the most fun.

We have some new signups and I am adding those people to the roster now. I don't think there will be a major problem with participation. However, I will look for signups before I build the battles. I will only make the battles as large as they need to be for a variety of reasons. Some may be larger on purpose and the AI may command those units, if it must, but those cases will be a little more rare.

At least one battle will be largely scripted, but until the campaign progresses to that point I don't know what the conditions of each force will be. Your choices will have consequences, which is a major attraction of a campaign.

Anyway, I'm working a little each day and will have this done by the weekend.

Thanks,

-Neal

Since Stefan and I are in the same timezone, I would offer to try and understand the machinations of the tool. I am horribly bad with anything including numbers so I cannot promise a favorable outcome.

Thank you Major Byrd.

I am sure you will be of help.

Since the tool will accept a pre-existing OOB (I think?) I will go ahead and build the detailed OOB tonight. Once that is done, we will be most of the way finished with that. Once the OOB is done, we can start the strategic campaign.

The forums are also set up for us, I will populate them tonight as well.

I've only used Stefan's software once or twice but I'm slightly familiar with it. I'm only 1 hour different from him so can ask questions... though PMs or emails are timeless so as long as a day's delay in getting an answer isn't a problem I don't see why a time difference should be an issue.

As Major Byrd is one of our C-in-Cs I can at least offer to help (I'm a floater and a grunt so seeing strategic numbers shouldn't be a problem... I'm not saying it will be a problem if MajByrd sees them... but I think you know what I mean.)

I would prefer is someone manages the OOB for me, they be as neutral as possible.

I wouldn't exactly call myself neutral either. Very Happy

No, you do have a point.

We have so many people coming from afield to play what matters most is that the campaign is successful. Let's make it so.

Digby see my campaign update from yesterday.

I believe I will be able to do everything myself, using Stefan's tool. :-)

Thank you all!
