Playing SOW in windowed mode
I'm playing SOW in windowed mode for the past weeks and I didn't encounter any problems yet. There was a time when we assumed it could cause freezes and drops ("bad frame in packet"). Now it seems this was corrected in one of the latest patches.
I suggest we play in windowed mode as it is IMHO much easier to use Teamspeak sub-channels to talk to other generals than to setup individual whisper keys. It would also be nice to have admin rights on the server to be able to move other players into sub-channels and back.

I too have played in window mode for some time without problem. I think the problem was fixed when Norb decreased the packet sizes so that our free text courier messages stopped crashing the game. I think Ike is the only one with admin privileges so he would be the person to hand them out. I don't know if he visits this forum anymore.

Same here.Uncle Billy wrote:I too have played in window mode for some time without problem.
Although it’s odd, because with the GCM mod enabled the free text is not restricted to one line. We’ve played Eleven HITS/GCM games now and I’m not aware of the old problem occurring.Uncle Billy wrote:I think the problem was fixed when Norb decreased the packet sizes so that our free text courier messages stopped crashing the game.
