Overview
The Yankees were rebuffed at the first battle at Cumberland Gap and returned to score a minor victory in the weeks following. The Rebel force moved off largely intact to the east, still determined to interdict Union movement in the area. President Lincoln was pleased, though not satisfied, with the result as eastern Tennessee remains up for grabs and the Rebels still in force in the vicinity. Both sides now look for control of Cumberland Gap that only comes with decisive victory.
What’s new in the Game?:
*Most game rules and settings will be the same as the last game http://forum.kriegsspiel.org.uk/t585-return-to-cumberland-gap-hits-gcm-game-3
*Players please be sure you’re aware of the restrictions on Taking Control (TC’ing) of brigades & regiments
*Batteries and guns may be freely TC’d throughout the game without restriction
*To encourage new players and accommodate those who prefer to play only a brigade or only guns, a sign-up option is included for those preferences, and to indicate players willing to share divisional assets with others. Because of the potential complexity of aligning these requests, players are strongly urged to register their preferences in advance http://doodle.com/2bq3q7rcv2vmat8w
*Because direct player control of individual brigades or batteries comes with potential advantages, the number of individually controlled units will be balanced as much as possible between the sides
*Player-controlled individual brigades are subject to the same TC’ing limitations as divisions i.e., a brigade commander may only have a single regiment TC’d at a time and must be within, and remain, 50 yards or less of the controlled regiment.
Enjoy the Game!

Re: Rebels' Revenge: HITS Meets GCM Game 4
In this game we'll try to accommodate those who wish to limit the size of their command to a brigade of infantry. With this we hope to especially attract players new to HITS and anyone who may need to leave before the game is over (in which case control of such a brigade would revert to the division c.o.). Also, if anyone is only interested in commanding a single battery of guns, we can probably make that work. Sorry, there's no capability just yet to easily gather multiple batteries into a large artillery command.

Re: Rebels' Revenge: HITS Meets GCM Game 4
East Tennessee is a poor region. The paucity of silverware and other finery gives the union soldiers very little incentive to fight over an otherwise worthless piece of wilderness. As that notable union commander Gen. Georgia has often observed, "a full purse makes for a happy soldier."President Lincoln was pleased, though not satisfied, with the result as eastern Tennessee remains up for grabs and the Rebels still in force in the vicinity.
