Campaign update 12/11

This weekend we have a splendid scenario on tap, I hope you all can participate in General Price Goes Home. Thank you for being awesome, Martin and preparing the scenario for us.

In the wake of that scenario, we will resume the Western Campaign, Thunder in the Shenandoah. The final battle of that campaign is coming up and we will want as many players as possible. I will post the doodle for that battle soon.

Following that, there will be a short break, I imagine, while we collect ourselves. The break may be shorter than I think. Already part two of the campaign is in the works, and is in an advanced stage of conceptualization. It will not take much to get it moving. During the break however, if you have any scenarios you want to try, now's the time. This is not to say we can't play scenarios concurrently, but there will be a stretch without campaign battles as everything gets set up for part II.

Be advised, the second campaign will be an extension of the first. Don't squander your troops...

Now for the exciting news (for me anyway). There will be a new umpire and an improved ruleset. All this will be announced soon. This is good news because the Father General is just itching to get at General Georgia and that just can't happen while I'm umpire.

I am not sure how many high command slots there will be, however I know there will be openings on both sides.

Ah! But one less for the union though. We're not letting Kevin go anywhere...

Feel free to pipe up if you want a role of responsibility in the next campaign. I won't be the decider, but an early notion of who's interested in doing what is nice to have.

I'd love to follow up or extend the role I took in this chapter of the campaign if possible, maybe just commanding without simultaneous management of troops...dreams...

I know Flashman has been wanting to have a higher command position, and I for one, would like to see some more of our GCM brothers take up the highest levels of command at the map level of the game. I want to involve you all more.

I'm certainly interested in this -- but am still getting used to the HITS style and consider myself a relative newb. After a few more scenarios and another campaign, who knows?

Will a new supply of silverware be laid in?

Its later in the war so I think the Confederacy is down to wooden spoons by this stage.

Hmm... that gives Gen. Georgia very little incentive to be CinC. Time to delegate command.
