Thursday 29th March
I shall be online at 7:00pm UK time (8:00pm Europe, 2:00pm Eastern time, 11:00am Pacific time). Planned game start time is 30mins later.
And I have all my numpad keys disabled and everything!

And in the same spirit I have swtched my T/S hotkey from space bar to Ctrl. I hope that's ok!

Martin: I dunno about changing from the space key. I kinda liked hearing that 'telegraphy key' effect when you were typing courier messages; gave it a rather realistic sound. Distracting as all get-out but fun.

Actually that effect might be quite appropriate for our next U-boat face-to-face game

Re: Thursday 29th March
Faint bells are ringing about the Ctrl key also doing something in either TS or SoWG. I know I had my TS hotkey set to something that clashed before settling on 'Alt'. I can't remember if it was Ctrl or something else, though, so you may be fine. Sorry for this vagueness ...Martin wrote:And in the same spirit I have swtched my T/S hotkey from space bar to Ctrl. I'm using Caps Lock as the push-to-talk button key. This way, I am sure the key is not used by a game.

Sounds good. But might that mean my free text courier messages come out in upper case?

'Alt' works for me and, IIRC, Martin (Mr Digby) ...Martin wrote:Sounds good. But might that mean my free text courier messages come out in upper case?Martin

Yes this can happen. In this case you must tap Caps Lock once before writing the message...
Maybe ALT would be even better then

Another terrific MP game yesterday, with 6 of us vs the AI. Digby is producing an AAR, so I'll say no more.
Game is now stable, and we are on top of the whisper function, so all technical issues have been surmounted.

You seem very certain Martin – or is this just government – style confidence building PR? :-)

Oh ye of little faith.......we have had our problems I know.King_Rufus wrote:You seem very certain Martin – or is this just government – style confidence building PR? :-)
I'm not aware of any game freezes in the last fortnight - and quite a large number have been played. But there are those who play more often than me, so it would be helpful if one of those could pop-up to confirm or deny.

Indeed, yesterdays game was most excellent from my point of view. I'm very excited for Digby's AAR too! I can even provide some screenshots if needed.
It was stable but a bit slow. About every 3 seconds it paused for 1 second. In the heat of the battle this doesn't bother me. But we limited the game to 120minutes, and in reality it lasted 3 or maybe 3.5 hours.

As well you should be. Your division perfomed miracles, General Clarke.Leffe7 wrote:Indeed, yesterdays game was most excellent from my point of view. I'm very excited for Digby's AAR too! I can even provide some screenshots if needed.

That's a fair point re the slowness. We were missing our usual host, and my guess is that was down to the internet connection. But I'd be interested in what the more computer-savvy think.

Re: Thursday 29th March
the reason it was shakey was due to the high amount of men you had in that OOB sir. when you have that many Sprites with trees and the like it will always lag a bit . We also had six players and I hosted from Kally-Forn-Ya so all in all it was not bad. It also seems some have slower machines than others do but that is to be expected. Great fun though.Martin wrote:As well you should be. Your division perfomed miracles, General Clarke.Leffe7 wrote:Indeed, yesterdays game was most excellent from my point of view.
