Can anyone explain how to fix a combat situation where one side fires their weapons and the opposing side just stands still. Have searched through the internal files but no luck with finding an answer. Would appreciate any input,

If this is SoW then probably one side cannot see the other's flag due to a subtle fold in the ground. Its always the unit flag that matters, the entire unit is in woods or in cover if the flag is in that terrain so LOS is always calculated to the flag sprite. If two units are at an angle, or offset from each other its quite possible for this anomalous situation to happen and sadly its a weakness of the game design and there's nothing you can do except manoeuvre the non-shooting unit until it starts shooting.

Hi Digby
Thanks for your post. The situation is for War of Spanish Succession and Ihave deliberately brought infantry units within shooting range of each other. One side fires with no trouble and the other stands with weapon to their side. There are usually about five or six regiments inline. The funny thing is I have a separate OOB with same type of units and no problem with them. It is an annoying bug that I have spent a lot of time trying to find

Thanks

In that case it might be an error in the OOB. The units might be armed with a weapon that has a typo in it's entry and so doesn't match any weapon in rifles.csv. In this case the game can't give the troops a functioning weapon so they just stand there and don't shoot.

Have you got the OOB file in question for that scenario, or the scenario.csv file?

Hi Digby
Sorry about the delay getting back to you. Did more checking and eventually solved the problem. I had tinkered around with the unitglobal and had forgotten i had changed a column. Thanks again for your input.
