Greetings from Sydney Australia
Greetings from Sydney Australia.
I only recently started playing Kriegsspiel over Table Top Simulator and PBEM with members of the International Kriegsspiel Society (formerly the Sol Cal Kriegsspiel society). Im really enjoying the challenges of commanding without the god like view of the battlefield.
I have been practicing single player HITS using SOW-W with the KS mod and take command 2nd Manassas. Now that I’m becoming familiar with the system, it’s time to take the next step into the multiplayer realm.
Living in Australia means it will be difficult to play during the week (time zone difference) but look forward to joining occasional games On the weekends.

You'll struggle even on weekends, unless playing between 4 AM and 7 AM on Saturday morning is your thing.

Welcome to the forum.
Our usual days for play are Tuesday, Friday and Sunday at 1800GMT. As Miko said, it would be an early morning for you. Nevertheless, you are certainly welcome to play. You can start off with a brigade if you like. You can also take a division is you feel comfortable enough playing HITS.

Re: Greetings from Sydney Australia
...well hello there Lord Capel.
I had a Tour at Little Gaddesden, but I'm back in Sydney now.
We should catch up sometime, and see what we can do in a more friendly timezone!
Particularly as we're all locked down these days anyway.

Greetings Lord Capel!
I hope you might be able to join us once in a while. And there might be an occasion where we could occasionally arrange something separately.
In the interim I invite you to consider the upcoming campaign at the operational level.
Best Regards

I haven't in a few years, but very willing to re-educate myself.
Do you mostly use the original ACW one, or the new SoW: Waterloo ones?
I have both, and fond memories of Digby's Peninsular Campaign (and a few lunatic Spanish cavalry charges by yours truly).

Re: Greetings from Sydney Australia
I only play SOW Waterloo with the KS mod. I recently bought Take command 2nd Manassas and it’s given me the urge to get the ACW SOW. I just wish I could buy it through steam because norbsoft and matrix only let you download it one time. That’s a lot of money lost if your HD malfunctions.

Matrix adds the game to My Page/My Games. You can re-download it whenever you want. I'd wait for it to go on dale though.

Re: Greetings from Sydney Australia
I didn’t know they did that, the website says:
Our Digital Download service sends you a download link to the master game file once your order is complete. You can use this link to download the game directly to your computer over the internet and start playing right away. The download is available to you for thirty days after your order. No shipping is involved and the game is immediately available for you once the order is complete.

Uncle Billy's right, Lord Capel. There is no limit on how many times you can download.

Re: Greetings from Sydney Australia
I believe you're all right actually.
The link they e-mail you is active for 30 days, but (in this age of spam and e-mail hacks) it's then de-activated.
But you can still log into the site and download any game you've purchased on your login at any point, along with the latest updates.
It's not quite as convenient as Steam, but gives you the advantage of actually owning the game you purchased instead of a subscription you can sometimes (rarely) lose access to at a later date.
