Map Storage
Hi everyone,
I've just ordered some kriegspiel blocks, and I'm wondering how to print and store my maps safely, without them getting tatty etc.
How do you all store your maps? What are they printed on? Do you laminate them?

Re: Map Storage
For me laminate with A3 and store flat works well.
I have learnt that best to use gloss laminates so you can then use marker pens.
I tried to be clever with Matt Laminates but the marker pens can be very difficult to remove.....

Re: Map Storage
Page protectors! Cheaper than lamination and if you use an indelible marker on them, throw that page protector away and use another. Store them in a 3-ring binder, about the 1" size, and handle carefully, of course.

Map Storage
Thanks guys, that's really helpful.
I think I might try the page protectors- because I'm a cheapstake.
Now to print those maps out... I might go and buy a map from TooFatLardies... any you guys recommend?

Re: Map Storage
Too Fat Lardies is a good source for maps to start with for K-S. They are easy to read and print out nicely. I have printed out nearly all of the Metz map sections and they're quite nice. For maps of other terrain, I don't know. I'm working on using CC3 which has the capability to draw maps in the same style as the K-S maps, but real life is intruding on a regular basis this year, so I'm uncertain if that will work ... no, I'm certain it will work, but uncertain if I can make maps that will work.

A3 laminates
A3 laminates protect the maps from liquids unlike page protectors; I do not find laminating sheets that expensive, and Chinese - made machines are now also cheap. Also, 'permanent' marker if applied accidentally can usually be removed with nail varnish remover or other spirits.
