Battlegames #25
•And now for something completely different. In his first article for Battlegames, Irish contributor Conrad Kinch gives us the intriguing A starter for ten: an alternative method of resolving campaign matters in Free Kriegsspiel. Campaigns have never been so much fun, so you'd best get your thinking caps on
The above entry arises as a description of issue number 25 of the magazine Battlegames. Can anyone enlighten us as to nature of the article?

it is about using a quiz to simulate dice rolls, essentially the number of questions answered correctly gives the dice value

Thanks. Not a system likely to speed up the process of resolution.

Well - it actually wasn't meant to. The idea was (and the way is that it's been used in practice) is that when you're playing a game of email KS (or in our case, using KS as a campaign system and then fighting battles out on the talbletop) things would normally be adjudicated using the tried and true nugget method set out in Napoleonic Wargaming for Fun.
However - once per campaign, if the player wanted to be sure, he could opt to take a quiz rather than roll the dice. It's a gimmick, but I've found it a successful one - used as seasoning, not as a main meal.
