Where does one get the rules for this game, and what other knowledge is necessary?
So I have become recently interested in this first notable wargame used by the Prussian military apparently. So where do I best acknowledge what one does as a player of this game, and how much more military knowledge do I need besides that of the military jargon spoken? Thanks, and I hope I will not be a nuisance of a noob seeing introductory help posts are not at all a thing here.

Hi Sigismund
Welcome to the forum, and your post is absolutely on-topic .
TooFatLardies sell various sets English translations of the original Prussian rules, together with other game-related stuff such as detailed maps. Here's a link http://toofatlardies.co.uk/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=8
Because the umpire(s) handle all details of movement, combat etc, it is not necessary for players to know the rules. What is helpful is some knowledge of the period and the weapons and tactics used. In our group, even that is not strictly necessary, as helpful umpires are on hand to assist if required.
Hope that helps
