You can not see that valley anymore and we are getting ash as I type. Had 3 eruptions today the 3rd was huge and we started getting ash 60 miles fairly fast. Pretty awesome though, never thought I would see anything like this in my lifetime.

Personally, impressive though nature can be, I would rather not witness such things first hand, unless I was a good safe distance away, and certainly not want to see them from my house! I hope you and your family stay safe and heed the public warnings/safety notices.

Thanks Digby, we had ash falling for about 4 hours in the afternoon. We are just cleaning house now. Scientist say they expect a few more eruptions but nothing like yesterday. Ash feel 150 miles from the volcano, we watched the main ash cloud go right by the house and only got a small amount. Guess living on the side of the mountain has its perks.
