Hello everyone
Hello,
I'm Mark, from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. I found out about this forum from Palmer over at SOW. I have been interested in Napoleonic Warfare since I was a lad; it predates my civil war obsession. Je parle un peu le francais aussi. I would obviously enjoy commanding a part of Napoleons war machine. I will take my time and familiarize myself with the rules and requirements of this community, all advice and instructions will be appreciated and learned from.
Thanks,
Mark

Hi Mark,
Wellcome to the forum, nice to see the HITS community grow. I just joined short ago and having lots of fun.
The campaign rules are very handy and the umpire is very helpfull, in case you have any doubts.
I am sure you will get very pleasant times with all the guys around.
Best regards.
Pepe/Iberalc.

Re: Hello everyone
Hi Mark and welcome to the Kriegspiel Society forum. I'm the umpire for the Napoleonic campaign. I'll drop you an e-mail if I may and get you up to speed. It just so happens we have some openings for more French commanders very shortly (it's October 1808 if you want to know - if you've a basic knowledge of the Peninsular War you'll understand the significance of that date).
The way I'm running the campaign is that for the most part historic OOBs are used (where I can find them; though they are then changed by some player decisions) and actual events are happening where they don't tramline the game too much or bring in an overbalancing force. Against a framework of those key real events the players are free to make up their own script/story.
You should also try and join us for our game this weekend which will probably be about 20:00 GMT on Saturday 29th (15:00 US East Coast, 11:00 Pacific Time). This will be a scenario game, not a campaign game and you can get the hang of HITS and courier play without the pressure of causing any potential long term damage!

Re: Hello everyone
Well, yes, Sir John is around, but there are bigger fish in the pond than him!
I got your e-mail. I will send you a reply as soon as I can. I've been spending this evening poring over Nafziger OOBs of the French army in late 1808, trying to sort out 101 conflicting lists...
