Kriegsspiel revised rules 1828
Hello
Recently thanks to Ralph Reinersten I found out that the Kriegsspiel rules by Reißwitz - published in 1824 were heavily revised, new rules and new dices created, it can be found in the Zeitschrift für Kunst Wissenschaft und Geschichte des Krieges, here the link
Supplement zu den bisherigen Kriegsspiel Regeln
Being pages 68-105 of Zeitschrift für Kunst Wissenschaft und Geschichte des Krieges, Band 13, 1828
The problem is - due to being a google scan - the fold out doesn't show all the patterns for the new dice.
I am looking for those dice pattern otherwise I cannot play according to the new rules which draw a lot of lessons from the first issues and were modified a lot
OK being a new member I cannot supply the links for the google scan of the above mentiones Zeitschrift, so I have to wait for 7 days - in case you like to see the link visit TMP - Napoleonic board - regarding Reißwitz

also Jeu de la Guerre published in 1875 from Meckel translated from German into French

and now back to Reißwitz 1828

Including at least some dice patterns but not all
and an interesting article about the Kriegsspielkommode

Hello,
I am also working on my own translation of the 1828 supplement, and would dearly like access to the revised dice!!

Welcome von Winterfeldt, and thanks very much for the links.
"Kriegsspielkommode"? - now that is something I have to have! Somewhere to sit while I dream up my future scenarios. But is this the same contraption that Morsey hopes to make his fortune selling (see elsewhere on site)?

Re: Kriegsspiel revised rules 1828
This may be a dumb question but when I was reading the TFL 1828 supplement rules, especially to decide how to use the revised fire tables, I noticed that the text said that a full battalion (presumably still 900 men) was only 90 points, half of what the original Reisswitz rules used. I presume this is a typo, otherwise fire was suddenly much more effective. Can anyone confirm that the 1828 rules still applied points the same way as the 1824 rules, or did they in fact change the casualty point scale? Thanks.
Take care

Looks like a typo to me Peter. Have looked in Bill Leeson's original translation and it's in there too, so TFL are in the clear

Thanks
That was what I presumed as well. I have one of Bill's original hardbacks, which doesn't include the 1828 supplement (unless I am simply blind, a non-zero probability, to be sure) so I had nothing better to go on. But it certainly made no sense.
Thanks

In response to Peter's question, in Bill's published version of the 1828 supplement page 11 item 5) mentions 90 points = 1/2 battalion of close order infantry.
