Sunday May 19th 2019 Face to Face game at Little Gaddesdon
Hi all
As promised the next game at Little Gaddesdon will be an ACW Army level game with the players acting as Corps commanders. Please sign up with your preference for playing/umpiring here https://xoyondo.com/dp/RzPbfNX0fSygCBV
This game should play very much like the Gettysburg game played last year which all those attending enjoyed.
Ideal numbers are 10 -11 participants so please get your name down early to ensure a place.
Cheers
Steve

Game taster!!
Dear all
Thanks to all those who have signed up to the game. I attach a little taster to get you in the mood!
We will allocate roles and brief on the day to allow players and umpires to familiarise themselves with the scenario and game mechanism (which will follow the same process as our ACW game last year).
Please aim to arrive by 1030 to allow a prompt start.
Bring the usual pens and paper
A little something for the snacks bar is always appreciated!
Sean, David and I have spent a lot of time building on the success of recent games and acting on recent feedback to ensure a good game. A quick plea. Games have often been disrupted by non or late attendance. If you have changed your plans and will not be attending please let us know as soon as possible. We have planned to slot in 'possibles' on the sign up list but will struggle to accommodate surprise arrivals so if you know someone is coming and they have not signed up perhaps you could encourage them to let us know.
“The land between the creek and the road was gently rolling but almost completely wooded…in the woods no officer above Brigadier could see all his command at once, and even the Brigadiers often could see nobody’s troops but their own and perhaps the enemy’s.”
General situation.
September 1863. The Union army has succeeded by manoeuvre in taking a vital rail hub virtually without a shot being fired.
The Confederates have retreated with the Union in pursuit convinced they can drive the Confederates ‘in to the sea’.
Over ten days however the union have become over extended and the Confederates have concentrated in an attempt to defeat the Union command in detail.
The Union commander has realised the danger at the last minute and begun to concentrate his scattered forces. Through heroic rearguard actions, Confederate mistakes and some good fortune the Union have managed to concentrate in an area North of a mill on a creek some ten miles South of the rail hub. The Confederates are in close attendance.
Convinced they can drive the Union army against the gaps in the mountains cutting them off from the railhead the Confederates are about to attack.
See you Sunday 19th!!
Cheers
