Command Map
Hi
I can't figure out what the command map is for - can anyone enlighten me? (the one you get by pressing n)
Thanks!

Re: Command Map
Before you press the 'N' key, select the unit you want to move. Then press the 'N' key and click on the spot on the map you want the unit to move to. It will then march off to that destination. Note, you can select a route by holding down the Ctrl key and clicking various spots along the route you want the unit to take. Lift up on the Ctrl key when selecting the final destination.

Thanks
Can you do it to yourself?
OR if given to a brigade in your command, will it form a formation at that point?

Re: Command Map
I can't seem to get this to work - nothing happens once I close the map.

Re: Command Map
It will close automatically as soon as you click on it. Are you pressing the 'N' key to open it?

Re: Command Map
Yup - I press n, the map opens, I press n and click.. nothing happens.
Is there a keyboard config file I'm missing? I put the one from this forum in.

Re: Command Map
As Kevin says, yes you can but you need to select a formation from the toolbar after the command map has closed. You can make the unit go there using only roads as well if you hit the 'use roads' button last of all.OR if given to a brigade in your command, will it form a formation at that point?

Re: Command Map
So It's definitely not working as described - I can't see any difference to the 'm' map. When I press n and click it just moves the eye on the map (and obviously doesn't do anything else, as it's HITS it can't move the perspective)
I've probably not installed something/changed a setting - any ideas?
Thanks

Re: Command Map
If the map doesn't close instantly when you click on it, the wrong command is tied tot he N key. Open keyboard.csv, it's in the Work folder. Find the line that starts with Map Move. Column C should contain the command, AMmoveto.

Re: Command Map
I found the problem! There was a defaultkeys file too, which was being read first.

Re: Command Map
On a related note, any thoughts, Kevin (or anyone) on why the Manassas mod command map doesn't work for almost everyone?

Re: Command Map
I have no idea why it doesn't work. Actually it's inconceivable. Here is a link to a nappy version of the map. Place the two files in the KS Napoleon mod \Maps folder and give it a try. Nappy Manassas

Re: Command Map
Fantastic. Thanks. So now we don't need to activate the Manassas mod?
EDIT: I had to copy over the .bmp, .ini and .lsl files and do some name edits in the .ini but it works great.

Re: Command Map
No you don't need to copy any other files. Those are in the latest version of the supplemental maps mod.

Re: Command Map
The map wasn't visible in the maps list of the sandbox selection screen until I did, probably because they are called "Manassas" in the Supplemental Maps Mod and "Manassas_France" in the KS Mod maps folder.
