I see from the NSD forum that the Italian group is around tonight at about 20:00 UK time. I'll be online too. If anyone else joins we might offer them another game? So far its a 3-0 score we've run up so lets try and keep the great result going!

Jack, Baldwin and I played a very intense and bloody game around Spanglers Woods on the Pickett map tonight vs NYC, Mitra and Suchet. We crushed them! 4-0!

Jack's brigade, despite all his whining and calling for artillery support (again) got easily the highest score.

Keep up the good work, gentlemen.

What OOBs were you using?

Baldwin quickly created one just before the battle. Its actually a very nice little OOB between two identical divisions, each of 3 brigades of 4 regiments, the Union having 12 guns in 2 batteries and the Rebs having 12 in 3 batteries.

BTW, where have you been? We've been missing you (along with a number of other regulars who we haven't seen for weeks).

Oh I've been about - keeping one eye on the forum while being admittedly busy elsewhere, and generally missing out on the game sessions 'later today' by a few hours

Still don't agree that cavalry was overpowered on Alpine, though I may be biased.

That said, if we're emasculating them further then I'll graciously allow one of those who think that's a good idea to handle them in the next battle I'm involved with

Could it be that the CO kept the artillery in support of his own brigade? Nah, Dig would NEVER stoop to partiality on his own behalf, would he? LOL Actually, I WAS calling, repeatedly, for some artillery support when two Federal brigades (8 regiments) and one 6-gun battery showed up in front of my 4 regiments! Mr. Baldwin was on my right, fortunately, but my left was unsupported. I later learned that CO General Digby was enjoying a Shad bake with General Pickett somewhere in the rear! Something about "fish and chips" was the rumor! Only when the fish was consumed, did the artillery finally show up. Who was it that wrote, "For want of a horse, the kingdom was lost!" Maybe that is somewhere in Digby's dispatches to Richmond!
