Latvia needs more men for its women

A lot of bad things to say about the poor journalism there. Still, they are right, though only about one small thing that they mentioned very briefly - the gender ratio starts to change greatly in adulthood, or more precisely - at an age above 50 - 55. It doesn't really affect me since... well I'm not really into women that age

The rest of the article is either about non-important factors or just things taken out of context that actually aren't representative of the problem. It's pretty misguiding, really.

Generally the reason for these problems is thought to be the USSR and the cultural effect on us by the culture dominant in east slavic countries.
