KS Napoleonic with Portraits

All four OOB's have now been converted and are working. The oob's have the P_ prefix for now.

This mod is basically the same as KSNapLarge but with portraits added, so you just need to run it with 'Road to Wagram and Peninsular' (without the logistics folder), ensuring this mod is loaded second.

Really wish I could have found more Generals but I think there is enough there to add that extra touch. I'm working on some generic General images to blend in but it will be a few weeks yet.

Should work MP, so please download ready for testing. Hopefully, when Kevin gets back from his hols we can rename it as the next KSNapMod version, all being well.

Appologies for my rather 'knee-jerk' announcement that I am taking time off from the game. It was a hasty reaction to my domestic frustrations. Sorry.

Not sure when I'll get my next game in but I have managed to some more work on the mod.

The portraits are done and mounted for Borodino: A few more French & Allies, and 72 Russian Generals.

Once Kevin finishes the Borodino OOB then it will be a quick conversion, then good to go.

Kevin's done a lot of work on the Borodino OOB, with a bit of assistance from me.  Hopefully we are close to a final version, and can incorporate your portraits shortly.

We also have some new Russian flags & sprites, so it should look pretty good in action.  We'll be able to run 1812 Campaign MP battles soon!

Isn't better create a single mod for the napoleonic merging the different mods? For newbies is difficult understand what and in what sequence activate. A single mod will be easier to manage and download.

I think that Kevin will update the KS Napoleon mod to include the new portraits.

Grog, I hope that after the domestic situation improves, you will find some time to play your portraits in proper MP.

Yes but what I meant also merge the KS with the Road to Wagram in a single directory and possibly also the Random map 6.

I agree, Mitra. It would be good to merge the mods into one.

It was my intention to offer the portraits to gunship24 for integration into the base mod. I don't want to assume he will be willing to do this, so I will first release a full version of the portrait mod and see what response I get.

Likewise, I will see what feedback I get before changing KS files. If the group is happy to have them, then you are welcome to them.

I will also release all my files for anyone here to use as they wish. They would make nice map counters, I think and will be nice for scenario intro's and battle reports etc.

Done some more and redone a few. Only got the Russians and a few minor nations and then the OOB's will be covered.

Just got to finish the Russians and add blend some minor nation flags onto already ones already done.

Mounting them and adjusting the OOB's shouldn't take too long.

Hopefully only a weeks work.

I don't know how more than two can be easily put in the game. Individual toolbars would have to be created for each nationality. It's possible to do, but would be a bit of work.

With the portraits and generic portraits done so far, I'm sure there is enough room to accomodate them. Each mounting can hold about 400 portraits, now that I've converted them all to the 2048x2048 pixel size.

There's a mounting for Army, Wing, Corps, Div, Brigade, Unit (for each side)

I was just making sure the flags I used for the various minor nations tied in ok with ones you might have used on the GIU.

So the partial flags are the generic pictures for the unpainted commanders? If so, then my previous comment doesn't apply. I thought there was an entire bar for each nation.

Ah yes, sorry. I just mounted them like that for show.

Back from my hols and managed to finish the generic portraits today. They just need mounting and OOB's synchronising with them.

I believe that I have portraits or generic officer images for every army,corps,div and brigade officer. Also done baggage train 'portraits' for all nations that have divisional level. Total over 100 and now I'm well sick of them, to be honest

I wasn't sure if the last OOB's posted (email) were the final versions? Seemed that the Borodino oob was still being scrutinised  

Hopefully, I'll get the finished work to Kevin by the end of next week.
