New Player Intro

Hello. Not sure of the appropriate section for intros. I'm a new prospective KS MP participant. I have the stock SOWW with all its DLC and I've downloaded the KS SOW files and am currently trying them out. I've been a Napoleonic wargamer for sometime through PC, tabletop miniatures and board games. I would like to play an actual Kriegsspiel game one day. I'd also like to play SOW in multi-player games. I've got about 75 hours in SOWW, but just recently jumped into the KS mods. I'm a junior officer for sure, but relish the thought of operating within a command structure. I live in the Atlantic Standard Time zone and am familiar with Teamspeak, though an older version. A special shout out to all those who have been putting out these mods and new files.

First, welcome to the forum and thanks for the kind words regarding the mod. You are welcome to join us in a game whenever you like. We usually play on Sun., Wed., and Fri. The games usually begin at 14:00 EST, 15:00 AST? and will last 3-3.5 hr.

I imagine that if you start TS, it will auto-update. If not, you can just download the latest version.

Don't worry about your experience level. You can command a brigade in someone's division. That's the quickest way to learn the ins and outs of the mod. You'll find it quite different from the stock game. We play at saddle level, with couriers, (HITS), which means that even experienced players will receive a proper thrashing from the AI occasionally.

Well I've got the latest KS mods installed and working finally (turned out I extracted an extra folder in the Mods section). So, I'm up to 1.03 for the game and the very latest (October 29th/18) version of KS Mods. Ran a Sandbox game with one of the Prussian maps and everything seems to be working fine.

Also, I established a connection & bookmark for the TS3 server.

So, how can I get a low level command in someone's army and utterly help them to lose?      

Note HITS experience is pretty low, but like I said, I have almost 100 hours into the game and it shouldn't be too much of a stretch to get up to speed.

Welcome to the forum. We generally play on Weds. Fri. & Sun. at 14:00 EST, 19:00 GMT. So the next game will be tomorrow. Whenever you want to join us, just get on teamspeak 6-10 minutes before the starting time. An announcement is always made in the Impromptu Game thread.
