Re: Swamps Campaign
Yes we can, I have the dump of locations. only the time is important so the match will last 1:30 at place of 2:00 and the point the confederates obtained from the objectives during the fist half hour will be added

Re: Swamps Campaign
At the moment we have several registered for both the Friday and Saturday regular games. Unfortunately the two existing Swamps CinCs (Kevin & myself) appear to only be able to play on different days. Thoughts anyone?

Don't the Union have some points too, for holding their objective?

Re: Swamps Campaign
"It is possible that I can play tomorrow. Unfortunately, I won't know for certain until just before noon MDT. Sorry."
That would be the ideal solution. If you need any assistance on the matrimonial negotiation front, Uncle Billy, I have a pal in Colorado who's an absolute whizz at that

Re: Swamps Campaign
I can play tonight.
Sorry about the short notice. This weekend was a bit 'up in the air', as usual.

Re: Swamps Campaign
Regrettably I cannot. If you do play the Swamps scenario, Diggers knows what my plan was, which the new commander is welcome to use........or not.
Have a good game guys either way.

Re: Swamps Campaign
Good match guys; the strategic result is a draw, the confederates took for some time the beachhead but the federal retake it and inflicted heavy losses. Tactically the battle has been costly for the confederate but they gained the time necessary for evacuate the fort in order and prepare new forces for the next battle.
It was interesting that battle flow has been different from what I expected; more aggressive at the start more cautious at the end. There were many hard decisions to take for both the sides:
confederates could destroy federal troops at the beachhead only if they used all their mobile troops at the same time, but without knowing where the other federal division was, the risk was high.
The federal commander of first division, could have remained strictly in defensive mode, waiting for the second division, but with the risk the confederate held the second division during the swamp critical passage.
The second federal division commander faced the task to move in the difficult ground of swamp (there was a road near which permit a more rapid passage, but is not immediatly evident) and after to decide if connect with the first division or attack the crossroad directly without have idea about the enemy force numbers here and with the troops tired.
The next battle will be in Jenkins ferry map of red river mod.

Re: Swamps Campaign
PS: not sure 100% (need to check with more battle save) but I think dumpscen crash caused by battle routed units doesn't happen if there is the army commander in the OOB (at least it doesn't happen with this).
