Played my first real KS game!
I had the opportunity to play my first real KS game on Sunday, 1/19. I must say, the experience was pretty good, in spite of the fact that we only progressed through 38 minutes of game-time.
The scenario was a 4 vs. 2 scenario with myself commanding one other poor fellow with orders to attack in all directions at once.
We played on a small map, presumably outside of the city of Metz, and beginning at 5 AM, my French Division was required to take and hold 4 objectives from the Prussians.
I knew straight away, that time favored the enemy and his forces would be divided, so I concentrated mine and moved for a rapid assault. The first objective was undefended, so I moved my supply train up and continued to move my HQ forward with the men until we had good contact with the enemy. As the enemy moved to press one of my flanks, I observed his right wing in the air. I ordered my reserves onto the field, despite a penalty for doing so, and positioned them to smash the Prussian right Chancellorsville-style. At that point, we had been playing for about 8 hours, and only completed 38 minutes of game time, but it was obvious to all that the Prussians were doomed.
I had a great time and look forward to making more progress next time.
I wonder if they have a WWI Kriegsspiel of the 1st day at the Somme. Father General would LOVE that scenario.

Had you attacked with vigor, 38 minutes would have been more than enough. I hope you come up with a better excuse at your court martial.

Hey, I won the battle. LOL It's not my fault the other team had a lot of micromanaging going on!
Next time, I think I have to (attempt to help) umpire. :-/
