Manassas Map
Not long ago we had a multiplayer vs AI game on the Manassas map. I live not far from that field, and this morning I took a walk there.
It was kind of funny being there for real after having recently been there virtually. Walking to where Digby set up his defense. Exploring his right flank from where a flood of Austrians came and back a bit further Miko ran into a probing Austrian division. Normally there are a couple of port-a-potties in the area where Phil was but they aren’t there at the moment :-)

LOL. I would imagine the relief is much exaggerated on the SOW maps and the land is much flatter in reality. I am not sure why NSD did that - to some extent its the oversized sprites and you need to compensate for that, but some of the hills on the Pipe Creek maps are just daft.

Well yes the grades are generally steeper in the game but in a relativistic sense itnis all there. And actually your right flank, that “alley” thru which you wanted to plant and artillery battery. Very evident. Just as evident was looking UP the slope facing that battery ... no way would I want to charge it uphill! Lol

Next time you are there please take some photos and post them up, while I've seem photos of the battlefield the small nuances etc I'm unaware of.
