Re: Impromptu Games
Thanks for the tip. Next time we see it, we'll march the other way!

Re: Impromptu Games
Predictably, the humans turned in another sub-par performance yesterday, with Mike again losing his entire command and Martin being savaged by hairy men using pointy sticks. Disgraceful.

Re: Impromptu Games
If your 1500 Polish rated 7.0 had fought better and handles the 10000 man Army which consisted of 5 to 1 cav against us I think Digby and i would have done better.
I noticed that you did not mention Phil either but he was on the other side of the battle fight another 10000 falling forward 10 feet and then back 30 over and over again.
I think that Phil and Digby will confirm that it was the scenario makers fault that we lost.

Re: Impromptu Games
It was a little unbalanced. We had not a hope in hell of winning. I don't mind a good fight but an Andy Williams song isn't really cricket old chap.

Re: Impromptu Games
Phil presumably fought somewhere on the map, though I never saw him but did suffer the effects of his awakening of that Russian division. I must say, with all due modesty, that my performance on the field was the only one that was up to snuff. Still, the manhandling you two suffered answered the questions I had concerning the rewrite of a part of the cavalry code. Your destruction was not for naught.
Now I'm on to another part of the cavalry code, so more testing may be required.

Re: Impromptu Games
I'm not convinced that throwing 6 fresh Cossack regiments at the left end of a very tired infantry division is evidence of much except that 6 fresh cavalry regiments will shatter a tired infantry division, code adjustments or not!
Now, throwing 12 cavalry regiments at a fresh infantry division, or 6 tired ones at a tired division might give some useful data!

Re: Impromptu Games
The changes should have made the cavalry continue its charge against the retreating infantry and into unprepared battalions in the path of the rampaging cavalry, tearing into them as well. They shouldn't stop until either the units all route or surrender, the cavalry runs up against a unit in square, (cuirassiers might not stop even then) or the horses are blown.
Mike's division showed the results of relatively fresh infantry vs heavy cav. Your poor sods showed what happens to tired troops even against lowly Cossacks. I suppose you both can find solace in victimhood. For myself, I found satisfaction in the butchery.

I can play today at the usual time, 14:00 EST, 19:00 BST. It looks like the British and French will have some sort of dust-up over supply depots. Maneuver and scouting may be important.

I can play today at the non-usual time, 15:00 EST, 20:00 BST. I still have a PvP British vs French scenario. There will also be a new dll version to test.

You were not supposed to see this Kevin, Sunday's are family day here at KS not for sadistic or masochistic KS members. Oh wait that would include us all.
See you then.

Re: Impromptu Games
I can play today at the usual time, 15:00 EST, 19:00 GMT. It looks like 1807 Russians vs French. I'm thinking that instead of the cotton candy scenarios I've been serving up lately to make this one a little challenging. The real question though is whether Mike can pull off a coveted hat trick and lose his entire command for a third time straight. It's a high bar, to be sure.

Re: Impromptu Games
You need to show up Mike. We have to gather all the evidence for the medical malpractice case to prove that Kevin really is evil and cannot claim to be clinically insane with these scenarios.
