Re: Week-End with the scenario day - 06/06-07/06
It looks as if we may have 2 or 3 new players for tomorrow's game. I think they would feel more comfortable starting with ACW, so I will put together a scenario on one of the GCM random maps (2.0 or 3.0 series).
Could someone else please do something for Saturday's game? As Digby said (on another thread), we haven't played Napoleonic for a while. Is anyone up for that?

Today's scenario game is set in Tennessee in August 1863. You will need the following in your Modifications folder:
1. CouriersAndMaps Mod
2. Flag Removal ACW Mod. If anyone doesn't have this, I can email it to you.
3. GCM Random maps (series 2/3). If anyone doesn't have this, I can send you a dropbox link

Random
Martin,
I have Random Maps 2 and 6, but no 2/3. In fact, I have never heard of it. So, I reckon I need it!
I also suspect that tomorrow's game will be Nap. Correct?
Thanks
Jack

Hi Jack
I think you're ok. 'Random Maps 2' includes 3. You can check that by enabling the mod, and seeing what maps you can access in sandbox - there should be four: 2.1, 2.2, 3.1 and 3.2. Btw you should place the mod before CouriersAndMaps in your mod list.
[From which I take it that you're playing today ]
Not sure about tomorrow. Not in my hands.

The 11th Corps pushes on
Thanks Davide, allright lets give this scenario another go then.
6-8 players would be a good number for this scenario. By now 5 are listed in doodle, if Jack is playing we are 6.
Based on the experience made last time, we will start with testing as soon as a player is in TS (starting around 20h00 UK time).
Any Italian player will be on the Union side, and if Jack and Digby are playing, they will be on the CSA side as those already know the briefing.
Mitra will be CinC on the Union side.
Any volunteer to take command on the Confederate side? Then I would send him the briefing by mail before.
Situation
On May 22th, elements of the Union’s 11th Corps attacked the city of Fredericksburg. The fighting was small-scale skirmishing. The resistance by the Confederate garrison was minimal as they clearly didn’t expect an attack at this point. Within hours, the city was fully occupied by Union forces and the Rebels were pushed back westwards beyond Marye’s Heights.
On May 23th (today), the advancing Federal regiments encountered Confederate pickett lines north of Alum Springs Mill…
Orders
Will be given to the two CinCs before battle.
Commands
With 6 players, each will have at least a division to command. With more players, also brigade commands are possible.
Carry-over feature
If desired, a sequal scenario may be created later.
Requirements
Chancellorsville
Latest Couriers and Maps mod
Time
Game Start is Saturday 20h30 UK time. Hosting tests will start at around 20h00 as soon as players are online.

Playing
Generally speaking, I do not sign up on the Doodle simply because I do not know what the week-end will bring until it is here. Fortunately, no outside plans for today, so COUNT ME IN!
As to Digby, I believe he posted that he was unavailable Friday or Saturday.
See you at 1430 USCDT.

Re: Week-End with the scenario day - 06/06-07/06
In the end, yesterdays battle was pretty one sided as the Union plan seemed to work out perfect in surrounding and destroying the Confederate divisions. I must say it was a nice use of superior numbers and the final attack was launched about at the same time. I fear there will be no carry-over for AP Hills command as we were unable to breakout from this trap ;-) Who knows, maybe 11th Corps will advance in another scenario.
The Rebels plan also involved a trap laid out, but the enemy didnt want to play its intended part

Great game, and one I'll remember a long time
Plenty of room to manoeuvre on the 5 mile Salem Church map, which is one of the best I think.

I had good communication lines with both Berthier and Kevin, so I had a more or less well formed idea of where the confederates were deployed; my biggest fear was that Berthier can be advance too much alone against a stronger enemy, so he was under strict orders to not advance too much and be ready to retreat, in the meantime he gave me very useful intel information about the central part of map situation
