What a marvelous resource! I love situation maps and there are masses of them here. Some take a long while to download though as they are over 100 meg.

One of two of the links from the site don't appear to work, but it's a great site and many thanks for alerting us to it.

For game maps you want the 19th century russian maps. Sad err- pre war topographical 1/25, 1/50 or 1/100000.

You can inport them into inkscape then trace over the details you want. (rivers,roads, woods, towns, contours at the level you want, etc)

Some very interesting photos here as well. My personal favourite is under miscellaneous-russian highway.
