SOWGB is an old game and I haven't played it since SOWWL came out. I don't think I have the KS mod for that game any longer.

Thanks for the reply. I Started long ago with SOWGB, and just purchased downloaded SOWWL on the last few daze of the sale before slitherine quit handling the game. Alas, for whatever reason they sent me ver 1.01, not 1.03.  I purchased the boxed game and disk. Hopefully it will be the latest version.

I have the KS files ver 136,maps 126 and sprites 107 for SOWWL. Are these the latest, and perhaps do you have any idea where I might get the 103 update?

Edit: I just checked with Slitherine and found the updates. So, I only need to know if there are updates for the KS mod.

To update the game, run patch 1.02. Then run patch 1.03.

The most current released version of the mod is version KSMod 1.36, Supplemental Maps 1.26 and Sprites 1.07. There will likely be a new version of the KS Mod and Maps released Friday or Saturday.

So this is a little weird - but then, I'm used to weird. I got the XML program just fine. Installed it and as soon as I ran it, it told me I was missing an msvcp120.dll file. I did some research, found the files from a .dll site and instructions on how to install them and voila, the error message disappeared.

This time it claims that Create XML can't start because of error Oxc000007b. So I looked that up and it appears that it can be damn near anything which seems odd because the program in question is only 33K and hardly seems big enough to need Direct x or Microsoft Visual ++ whatever. So before screwing around with it any further I'd thought I just ask if anyone has run into a similar problem. I did just upgrade to a new Windows 11 machine and everything else is working except that one little program... without which, I can't get the OOB files to read correctly.

@anvil  I'm about an hour south of Grand Junction, do about 2 1/2 hrs away from Mesa Verde.

@rschilla It's compiled with visual studio but I'd be surprised if it needed anything extra.  Here is a version compiled with C++20: XML Creator

That worked.

I guess it had something to do with the new install of Windows 11 on the new machine. It was not an upgrade from 10. I did see something about Microsoft visual studio and deleting it and uploading the latest version but I wasn't about to screw with that without at least asking first. This seems like a simpler fix and I will immediately search and destroy all instances of the earlier version.

You should run a Tech Support line. You're good at it.
