Tabletop Simulator Empty Tabletop Simulator

Post  alexbond Sun Apr 11, 2021 4:23 am

Greetings,

I am here to showcase my Tabletop Sim mod of von Reisswitz Kriegsspiel.

The intention is to use the game to control the master table. Players have pieces that represent their HQs, and are sent pictures from the Umpire (Snipping tool is piss easy to use). Outside of this, they will rely more on reports to know where the rest of their positions are and what they are doing.

Because I am American and know more about later 19th century US formations (read: ACW), I've termed Battalions "Regiments" and Regiments "Brigades". This creates a proper COC that I think modern people would be more familiar with. A "Half Battalion" would simply be a Battalion in this system. The amount of men has not changed - a pair of blocks is still 900 men strong.

The blocks included have the following for both sides:
4 Infantry Divisions, each with 3 Brigades of 3 Regiments of Infantry, a Jager Battalion, a Regiment of Hussars and a Light 6 Lb foot battery.

A Cavalry Division with 2 Regiments of each Cavalry Type (Hussars, Dragoons, Uhlans and Cuirassiers) and a battery of horse artillery.

An Artillery Brigade with 1 of each battery (6 Lb light, 7 Lb Howitzer, 12 Lb Heavy, 6 Lb Horse) and two additional 12 pounder batteries.

A Pioneer Regiment with 8 Pontoon Bridges.

There's also HQ pieces to split the force to up to 6 infantry divisions, 2 Corps with an Army HQ, and even have 2 Cav divisions under a Cavalry Corps. There's also a piece to brigade the Jagers.

It is not intended for Umpires to use all the pieces at once. They're provided to give some variety to scenario design.

You can find the mod by searching "Meckel" on the TTS workshop.

Here are the pictures, some of them might be a bit large for the forum. You can RMB and click "open image in a new tab" to see the full one.

Greetings,

I have also gone ahead and created a version for 1862 von Tschischwitz Kriegsspiel.

As prescribed, frontage change blocks are removed and every large formation block is 100 by 100 paces. Infantry includes company breakdowns.

Tabletop Simulator Empty I've got some KS1824 dice you can swipe to use with this.

I had a friend recently create some KS1824 dice files and images for me. Ping me via email at murdockpeter@gmail.com and I'll get them to you. I do not have them online as a workshop item. Thank you very much for posting this workshop item. I may have to "borrow" your pieces for my next overall match. Nice job on it all.

Peter,

Thanks for liking the mod. Remember that the Meckel Map specifically has some dead zones that I honestly dislike, and might eventually go and fix. One day.

Right now my top priority is updating the artillery pieces on the 1824 set, which I feel look a tad pixelated. I will probably also redesign the HQ pieces soon.

Feel free to use any pieces you desire for a future match, although I would like credit for making them Wink . They are meant for everyone to use and not just me!

Currently, there are four maps and five modules on steam:
1824 (Meckel, Waterloo)
1862 (Meckel, Metz, Koniggratz)

The Metz map was a real pain to get in, because it is very big. I had to downscale the pieces just slightly to make it fit - but the sucker is in there!

I have been leaning towards running some 1862 games soon because they seem less done, so that has been my focus as of late.
