KS Napoleon Battle Friday, Jan 22nd, 20:00BST, 15:00EST

This battle can be played as co-op or PvP.

Both armies are of one mind, capture Klimovitchi.  Prior to crossing the Reka, cavalry patrols from both armies revealed that their respective enemy was very close.  A succession of cavalry skirmishes have occurred, starting in the north and moving south.   Both armies have halted their advance and prepare for combat.

Objective: Defeat the enemy and keep him west of the Reka.  Once he is beaten, proceed with the original plan and occupy Klimovitchi.

I'm pretty sure that in Russian (doesn't seem that these are transliterations from belarussian) "reka" just simply translates to river. That's why there are two "reka" on the map - reka (river) Dnieper and reka (river) Ostr. So I suppose that the objective is to keep the enemy West of the river Ostr.

Perhaps I'm too nitpicky since everyone will probably understand the objectives anyway.

how big are OOBs? Tonight there might be also a vanilla game.. however there is growing number of players with KS installed and Friday is preferred day for many... so can this scenario handle about 10-15 players?

Indeed I do. Even though I have been gently trying to coax you islanders to use this proper form, you are all too stubborn to progress. Pity.

The scenario is optimal for 8 people. However, more can be accommodated with brigade commands. We would need a minimum of 6 to play PvP and 3 as co-op.

I do indeed have KS installed, have adjusted that sowwl.ini file & I'll recheck the settings

Some preaching, nice words and a promise for a fun time spent playing the mod et voila - I've converted 2 more people to the church of the almighty KS (or was it the flying spaghetti monster?)!

We're going to be joined by John and Tyler today. One of them is completely new to the mod and will probably need a quick tutorial. They both prefer brigades to command.

That was a very frustrating evening due to what we know in technical parlance as RSIN or a Really Shitty Internet Night, but it was encouraging to see our new friends stick around through all the lag and disconnects and restarts. You guys can imagine how irritating MP sessions were with Gettysburg 2 or 3 years ago before we knew how to do these resume games. We will try to resume the same battle today at the same time; 20:00 UK, 21:00 Europe, 15:00 US east coast, 12:00 noon west coast.

The battle from what I saw of the replay was pretty intense in the centre and was shaping up nicely at the city in the SE for a clash between two detached divisions.

Our regular KS players often have weekend commitments these days so if we don't get enough players of the original two teams I suggest we do a different battle and attempt to resume this one on Sunday at the same time. It would be good to have most of the same generals in the same commands.

Sorry for my sappy slow 3rd world country internet.  Guess I may have to play in only small games until they move this mountain to a modern day signal.
