Re: Regular Monday SOW HITS games
We have 7 signed-up for this game vs the AI. We can certainly fit more in as brigade commanders, and all are welcome. Still no volunteer for CinC
We do need a prompt start for this game however, so you will need to have downloaded the following Mods before the game:
KS SOW Supplemental Maps 104.7z. *New* version here https://www.dropbox.com/s/fd2qi3ki52acfh4/KS%20SOW%20Supplemental%20Maps104.7z?dl=0
CouriersAnd Maps 1.61. Longstanding version here http://www.norbsoftware.com/Downloads/Mods/CourierAndMapsMod1610.zip
Additional ACW flags & sprites. Newish version here https://www.dropbox.com/s/b7wcp3fwf8cegby/Additional%20ACW%20flags%20%26%20spritesv1_47.zip?dl=0
I have them in the above order in my Modifications list.
Can we try and meet up in T/S shortly before 19.30 (7.30 pm) UK time for testing.

Re: Regular Monday SOW HITS games
I may make it today or just miss it. We do not change the time down here so now we are 7 hours apart. Grandson has school this morning and depending on traffic will decide my fate. I guess I am saying don't wait for me. LOL If I dont make it you guys have a great game. Roland may 1000 fleas infest your saddle!

Re: Regular Monday SOW HITS games
Excellent game yesterday. I thoroughly enjoyed my Jeb Stuart style role. Quite different to all other games I've played in. Although part of the Union army didn't activate I think in hindsight that was a good thing. Many thanks for organising it Martin.

Re: Regular Monday SOW HITS games
I agree it was a great fight. Rich and David get the credit for keeping things together and maintaining their line even though they were severely outnumbered for almost the entire battle. The other three commanders, Martins 1 & 2, and Roland were also on the field. Court martial boards are being organized now.

Re: Regular Monday SOW HITS games
I'll put in a vote that we keep these Monday games in their current co-op vs AI format. This is more newcomer-friendly and we are starting to play both Saturdays and Sundays PvP games and sometimes Fridays as well. I know co-op vs AI isn't everyone's thing but now we have more opportunities for player vs player games than before.
The AI games can have a certain refreshing mood; slower-paced, more time to enjoy the scenery of the game and more opportunity to role-play which has grown into a side of these games almost as (if not more) important than winning.
I really hope the Monday games continue in this vein.
Thank you Martin for organising them.
I will rebuild my 1740s Lorraine vs VFS fictional game for next Monday.

Re: Regular Monday SOW HITS games
Glad you enjoyed the game guys. And hats off to Uncle Billy for flouting tradition by avoiding both court martial and commitment to an institution. From my lowly position it looked as if he handled a potentially tricky situation well.
Yes please do work-up your Lace Wars scenario, Diggers.
I did mention that Crikey has asked our group to road test his new 1st Carlist War Mod. He's has now sent me the initial version, including an atmospheric map of Spain and some splendid flags & uniforms. I was about to suggest we could give that a try next Monday, but it's no big deal. I did promise to check over the various OOBs, and I ought to do that before sharing it.

PS here's a doodle for the game http://doodle.com/yi78ngmaiu3vzke9

A Carlist Wars test would be great. I can save the Lace Wars scenario for another time. If you've committed us to test Crikey's mod for him I suppose we better had!

Re: Regular Monday SOW HITS games
I would be good for a Friday game. Mondays will be hard most days. My son has one to one attention from now on till the end of school. Sometimes I will make Mondays game but not always so I would appreciate a Friday game!

I will try to join the friday game this week. 2000 or 2030 UK time would work for me. Any mods we need?

Re: Regular Monday SOW HITS games
We can try a Carlist Wars Mod test. I haven't even had a minute to open the mod up yet and take a look though. Let's say 20:00h British Summer Time Friday. I will send people who sign up on Doodle the links to the mod by e-mail as it is not public yet - Crikey from the SoW forum would like our group to test it.
Doodle.

Re: Regular Monday SOW HITS games
And for Monday I'll try a third build of my Lace Wars scenario. I am scratching my head a bit though as to why it won't work in MP.
Could some kind soul maybe post up on their dropbox a scenario they made that has an AI side that attacks an objective? I can't help thinking I have something wrong there, and seeing a working example would help.

believe me Morsey, I would have rather fought and be court martialed again than be at that gathering last night

Re: Regular Monday SOW HITS games
We're going to try a second test run of Crikey's First Carlist War Mod tomorrow.
If you're intending to play, please email me and I'll send you a link to the mod, and also one for the new 5 mile map which accompanies it.
Start will be at 19.30 UK time as usual. Please meet up in T/S a few minutes before for testing.
