November face to face game
With Martin being unable to put on a game is anyone willing to step in at short notice?
If I hear nothing by Friday I suggest we cancel and rearrange for the New Year.

Re: November face to face game
Paul very kindly stepped-up and put on an ACW game, at the brigade level, based loosely on the 1861 Bull Run campaign.
This worked very well on an excellent map of the 500 square mile region around Manassas and Centreville, which showed all tactically important terrain. The Rebs were marginally better-trained, and initially appeared to stymie the Union advance, scoring several minor successes.
They eventually found the strategic defensive too great a challenge in the face of superior numbers. The jig was up when Union forces surrounded several Confederate brigades at Centreville.
My thanks again to Paul for stepping in at short notice. The ECW campaign game will be run next year, possibly sometime around Easter.
The club AGM followed the game. Steve and David continue as President and Treasurer. Mark had already decided to stand down as Secretary. Our thanks go to him for his efforts over the past year. Justin had the misfortune to be dozing by that point in the meeting, and was duly elected to the vacant position by unanimous acclaim .
