Got a couple of emails purporting to be from Rich Madder and one from Mark Jarvis, saying sign up to kriegsspiel.forumotion.net
First up it said 'unusual activity' had been detected on my account and I needed to sign in again, which I declined to do. I signed on here via my usual route with no problem. Going back to the email, my security sytem said there was some sort of attack associated with the address, which it had stopped.
Anyone any idea what may be going on?
Are any of these genuine - the content looked real - lists of the games etc - but something odd seemed to be going on.

Hi Guy, I sent out two e-mails today (one from this forum and one from the club website) about the games for 2013. Perhaps your system thought they were dodgy? The content of e-mail is pasted below: -

Dear Member as January 2013 fast ends it is worthwhile noting that we now have dates set for 2013 at the new venue of Little Gaddesden Village Hall. The address as follows: -

Little Gaddesden
Berkhamstead
Herts
HP4 1PA

This venue has been used during 2012 and proved to be a great venue with plenty of space and tables.

The current cost for the events are £5 and if it is your first visit then it is free.

The dates for the UK Group Meetings in 2013 are: -

Sunday 17th February :

Vietnam the Tet offensive
Upto four players dealing with the surprise attack made by the NVA in 1968

Sunday 24th March :

The return of the Zombies

Details to be announced

Sunday 28th April:

English Civil War campaign c1643/4.

Players will be army commanders for King or Parliament in various parts of the country, each with specific regional responsibilities. Each 'turn' will represent perhaps a week.

Sunday 26th May

Sunday 23rd June

Sunday 8th September

Sunday 20th October

Sunday 17th November

Please sign up for the games on the forum and use the doodle links provided. The first game is only 3 weeks away.

A final note is that we have have formalised the club and we now offer a yearly membership which for £20 a year allows access to all the games.

Please read the AGM minutes for more details.

Hope to see you in 2013 at one of the games.

Thanks for that.
It appears to be the same thing - no idea why my system lit up and said 'tilt'.
But it did - so I thought I'd check - thanks for putting my mind at rest.Very Happy

NP I do not like blasting out e-mails to everyone too often but once a year to remind people of the forth coming events seems fair enough. I might not bother with the Web site and keep it just to forum members in future as the E-mail Announcement is a bit easier to use.

Anyway glad you got them and it might prompt others to see if they can come along to an event or two...

Smile
