Half battallion consistency

Post  spock on Tue Dec 05, 2017 11:57 am

Hi there. Waiting for the last question, I have another one: in the same set of rules, at pag. 7, it is said that a half battalion is represented by two companies of 150 men (total of 300 men?), but later, pag. 13, the number rises at 450 men. What is the wright one? Best, Paolo

P13 is correct. In the 1824 rules (ie the Reisswitz version), an infantry battalion is represented by two half-battalion blocks. Each block represents 450 men in 3 ranks. In other words a battalion is 900 men. Organisationally, each battalion consists of 4 companies of 225 men each, and each half battalion consists of 2 companies.

Haven't heard back from TFL re your earlier query. Sorry. They have their own forum, and you might get a quicker response if you post it there.
