KS Napoleon Game Wednesday, Sept 2nd, 20:00 BST, 15:00EST
I've thrown together a scenario to try with the next step in our mod testing. It requires KS Mod version 1.12x. Replace the Modules sub-folder in the mod with this one: Modules From Version 1.12. It is the same Modules folder that is in the KS Nappy Mod v1.12.
The town of Alagon sits at an important road junction. Roads crossing the Rio Elbro and Rio Jalon all meet at this strategic point. An Austrian corps is reported to the west, marching very rapidly to take possession. Maréchal Davout's Corps of 25,000 men has been tasked with a similar objective. The corps has just crossed the Elbro without incident. The town is only a few kilometers away.
The objective is to capture and hold the town by the end of the day, (18:00).

I can be there. When you say the Austrians are moving from the west, did you mean to say east?

Players are going to need Gettysburg and the Antietam add-on for this as well aren't they?

I predict that after this battle, the CinC will be assembling a board of inquiry for his cavalry commanders.

And well-commanded, Pepe. It was an unusually overwhelming victory.
We seem to be (finally) getting the measure of the AI. I think having several brigade commanders probably helped to.
For as long as we are testing against the AI, perhaps we need to stretch the human team a bit more? We could give the AI more men, or better troops, or make the overall forces larger so the human team are more thinly-spread?

Remember the human team has Evil!Kevin, so we are handicapped enough I think!
I agree, it was a very good game and an unusually overwhelming victory. As you say Martin, it helps to have a brigade commander in each division and in our case you taking the cavalry of 4e division was extremely useful, allowing me to focus on battering the enemy down while you did the necessary fine surgery.
Thanks Kevin for another good scenario, I assumed things were going to get hairy pretty fast when I saw the objective marker wasn't where we'd been briefed it was. Those Austrian batteries on the far ridge and the cavalry brigades of all three of their divisions moving against mine and Tom's front were pretty damned annoying!
I really won the fight on my flank with my two skirmisher battalions, the two had scores of nearly 800 and 600 at the end and having to withdraw them to my gun line in square because those enemy cuirassiers were sat in front of us really hurt my ability to defeat the enemy. I also lost around 600 men to long range artillery pounding as well due to the need to keep squares beside and behind my guns to protect them. By the end of the game both my brigades were shaky because of this early pounding I think.

One victory and we are now all incarnations of Boney. In that case, I want a pay raise or even better, the movement schedule of Digby's baggage train. We seem to be (finally) getting the measure of the AI. I think having several brigade commanders probably helped to.
I've been giving the human side an advantage in manpower for several weeks to try to give us a fighting chance. That has given us some very tense battles. In yesterday's it was a a combination of being able to split the enemy line, isolating one of AI's divisions and not giving them a very good ground advantage that helped us significantly. The next battle will likely be different.
My second shall call upon General Defrance today.

Excellent. This iced-tea outrage will be dealt with once-and-for-all.
