Quick Map Measurement Tool Empty Quick Map Measurement Tool

Kriegsspielers,

I just registered for this forum 5 minutes ago so the measurement tool I'm about to describe may already be widely used by everyone. If it is, my apologizes in advance for posting something you already know.

I'm an engineer and often have to measure things off of drawings that aren't printed to a useful scale. So, we have several Plan Measurers in the office to help us. These are digital measuring devices with a small wheel on the end. The display can be set up relatively quickly to show "paces". Then, if you want a unit to move 2000 paces up a road, just put the wheel on the road and follow it until the display says 2000. It's far quicker than using the paper distance templates.

To see an example of the device I'm describing, do an Internet search for "Scalex PlanWheel SA 2". There are other models and manufacturers besides Scalex. The cost is between $45 and $65 U.S. depending on model. Hope this was help to someone.

Kyle

Hi Kyle

That's a excellent idea. Anything that can be done to speed up umpiring is good in my book.

Welcome to the forum.
