Napoleon HITS Game Apr. 4-5

Post  Uncle Billy on Tue Mar 31, 2015 5:28 pm

The idea for this scenario comes from Roland.  I just put the troops on the map.

The French were beset with a piece of bad luck.  Movement orders for II corps had been intercepted. The Austrian high command sent out a large force to take advantage of this opportunity and destroy the enemy.  However, due to the all too usual slow movement of the Austrians, the French may be able to slip free.  To succeed, each army will need to out guess and out maneuver his opponent.

This 3 hour battle will be fought on the Pipe Creek 3 map.  The usual 3 mods will be required along with the Pipe Creek expansion pack sold by Matrix, (everyone who has played for the last month already has it).

The battle will require a minimum of 8 players.  We can, of course, accommodate many more with brigade assignments.

The usual rule of no scouting more than 200-250 yd in front of your troops is in effect.

Cavalry and artillery may only use the roads when moving across the central ridge or along it.  They may not move cross country.  There are only two roads which allow such movement across, marked in red.  Roads near the top of the ridge that allow travel NE_SW, also marked in red.  These restrictions only apply to the central ridge.

This scenario will require some advanced planning for the two armies to be successful. It will be best for two people to bite the bullet and volunteer for CinC. I believe one of the Marks wanted to be French?

If "one of the Marks" is "wanting" to be CnC, it will never be this one.

since it's Easter over here - I won't be around - or I might just end up dead myself....

but I wish the rest of you a lot of fun with the scenario - I am looking forward to seeing the replay and find out if the scenario developed in any way the way I intended it too Smile

It shows my detailed planning and simple communication style makes for a winning recipe. Delegation of tasks is the most important aspect of being a commander, non? I simply assign roles and tasks to perfection Cool hahahahah

I was a snail-eater last game so I'll be an ice cream seller this time around - any division will do for me, 2 or 6-legged.

It is rather intimidating to have people trying to sell you ice cream via the tip of a bayonet.

We pride ourselves on getting few people coming back with product complaints.

Fifty I got for selling me coat,
Fifty for selling me blanket.
If ever I 'lists for a soldier again,
The Divil shall be me sergeant
Poor old sodger, poor old sodger

Twice tried for selling me coat,
Three times tried for desertion.
If ever I be a sodjer again,
May the Divil promote me sergeant.
Poor old sodger, poor old sodger

It appears French occupation still weighs heavy on them.

It's Thursday so it's time for my usual announcement that we still need a CinC for the Austrian side. Shocked

I'm sure the suggestions your ADCs make will give the Austrians a glorious victory. cheers That is especially true for the youngest member of your staff.
