Re: 17. Battle of Pamplona - 9th December 1808
Since I did not play in this game, I will refrain from commenting on it.
From my point of view, I'm very pleased with the way it is being run. Bravo Martin, keep up the great work.
I don't agree that it is producing poor games due to disparity in troop quality, although admittedly, there have been a few games that I could not take part in. Taken in the wider view of the campaign, they have presented very different tactical situations and the results have all varied somewhat.
Though I do look forward to a large confrontation, with perhaps less disparity in quality, I equally like the smaller and often more querky scenarios in which there is often less is at stake but the actions are important all the same. In fact, I feel that games where players have smaller commands, with more emphasis on scouting and a maintained chain of command suits HITS far more.
These early campaigns are a great testing ground for the rules, getting to know Kriegsspiel concepts and learning the Peninsular war strategies and characters involved.
